From Homemade Baked Goods to a Community Hub, How The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe Became a Peggy's Cove Road Favourite!

The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe is a family-owned and operated business that opened its doors on December 1st, 2021. Our team includes my partner Rachelle Brown and myself, Lorne Caborn, with tremendous support from our family and friends.

I was raised in rural Nova Scotia, Middle Musquodoboit, and after living in big cities across the country including Charlottetown, Calgary, and most recently Toronto, I wanted to be part of a strong-knit community. Together with Rachelle, I was fortunate enough to land in, and be accepted by, the community of Seabright, where The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe is located.

At The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe, we strive to create an environment that feels like home. Although we had initially intended on naming our cafe "Home," we ultimately chose the name "The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe" while still maintaining the same intention. Family has always come first, and we want everyone who enters our cafe to feel safe, welcome, and at home.

We pride ourselves on using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, and our local partners include Cavicchi's Meats, Red Barn Market, Ash Hill Farms, Tantallon Farmer's Market, Farmer Rob, Java Blend, Coastal Wholesale, Superstore, and Sobeys.

Our ultimate goal is for all of our guests to feel welcome at The Crab Apple Cookery & Cafe. Whether you're looking for a delicious cup of coffee, a homemade baked good, or a light lunch, we hope you'll join us and become part of our growing community.

We hope to see you soon!

By featuring these products, we're able to help promote and support our community's thriving handmade scene and showcase the incredible talent of our local makers.

Additionally, we feel that featuring local products adds an extra layer of warmth and personality to our cafe, and gives our guests a unique and memorable experience that they won't find anywhere else. We're always looking to add new products to our collection, so be sure to stop by and check out what's available!
